Volume measurement of bulk material with 3D Sensor PSC250-90

The volume measurement of bulk material is done by comparing the 3D surfaces using evaluation SW:
    • Volume of material removed is done via 3D measurements before and after the removal of the material.
    • Volume measurements via 3D measurement of the ground and of the surface of the material
The large range of e.g. PS300-90 allows the volume measurement of all materials even coal stockpiles.

Vehicle counting, type and speed detection with 2D Sensor PSXXX-90

With the PSXXX-90 series of sensors, it is possible to calculate the size, speed and direction
of vehicles passing under a horizontal and downward looking sensor.
Mounted under overpasses or existing structures such as large road signs.
For a mobile application it is also possible to use a sensor that is mounted looking sideways.

Capturing crowds and crowd flow with 3D Sensor System PSCXXX-90 for use in the prevention of hazardous situations

Large gatherings of people, i.e. demonstrations or events, where each person can be recorded, counted, evaluated on-line and if required acted upon, in order to defuse a potentially dangerous situation.

Autotrakker's Cargo Measurement System CMS with 4 2D sensors PS250-90

    Autotrakker Ltd.
has installed and commissioned 4 PS250-90 sensors fitted to rotating mounts, to calculate the size of loads on trucks.
This installation is at AET in Antwerp, Belgium.

Recording of container stacking areas with 2D PS or 3D PCS sensors

Container stacking areas are hard to measure except by using 2D sensors.
2D Profiles measured with PSXXX-90 sensors can be extended to 3D-surface information by using the movement of the cranes.
With on-line work  control software, the cranes can be controlled to be in the correct and exact position for container placement and or pickup.

Airplane Docking System with 2D sensor PAC300-4-ZZ with 4 scan layers

With a PAC Sensor with 4 scan layers the docking procedure can be controlled.
With an on-line working evaluation SW the difference to the target position can be determined continuously and signals to the pilot generated, to assist the pilot to reach the desired final position.

Surveying of the rock face in a quarry with 3D sensor PSC300-90

During cast blasting in quarries and open cut mine sites, it is important to avoid air blasts, where the distance between the blast hole and the quarry or mine face is too close.   By exact measurement of the face and in correlation with the borehole position in regards to the surface the amount of explosive is carefully managed.
The amount of material removed can also be calculated with a before and after 3D measurement of the quarry or open cut face.

Measurement of packages or luggage on a conveyor system with 2D sensors PSXXX-90

Package or luggage surveying on a conveyor belt is a common measurement task.
It depends on speed and accuracy.
With 2D sensors PSXXX-90, this task can easily be met.

Anti-collision measurement between a ship and rig with PS250-90

The 3D sensors can reliably measure the position and approach speed of a supply ship to oil rigs and production platforms.
Used in conjunction with the currently fitted radar, GPS systems, the extra information from these 3D sensors will be far superior then the conventional 1D laser distance sensors currently fitted.

Control of hot glowing slabs with special sensors PSXXX-90 HT

Here the measurements of billet length prior to the cut off shears or cutting torches is critical as too long or too short billet lengths are a major cost factor in producing rod and bar products.

Volume recording by volume flow measurement on a conveyor belt with 2D Sensor PSXXX-90

Volume measurements of bulk materials can be done by initially measuring an empty belt, and then measuring  the surface of the material as it passes under the 2D scanner
It is a much more reliable method than using weigh cells as no temperature compensation nor frequently calibration is required.
The long range capability of e.g. PS250-90 allows the measurement of coal volume flow from greater heights above the conveyor belt

Traffic light control with 2D Sensor PACXXX-90

The PACXXX-90 series of sensors can measure 4 parallel profiles onto 1 or up to 4 lanes, therefore
detecting approaching traffic, which in turn will control traffic lights assuring minimal delays in the switching sequence.

People-counting with 3D Sensor PSCXXX-90 to determine their movements and flow

On major thoroughfares, and intersections, the movement of people, i.e. direction, number of, and speed, can be measured with the PXC25-90 sensor system.
With the applicable software these movements can be tracked with a high degree of precision and therefore government bodies, or private companies can make an analysis for investment and real estate potential.

Control of ship to shore container cranes with 2D sensors PSXXX-90

The long range capability along with a small measurement spot of the 2D sensors PSXXX-90 allows operators  to control the overhead cranes movements down into the container ship's hold.
A variety of other applications of controlling container cranes is realized by Lase GmbH using PSXXX-90 sensors.

    Anti-collision systems based on 2D sensors PS250-90

With PS 250-90 sensors the areas left and right of the crane and its load can be monitored.
With on-line working SW potential collisions that might occur can be avoided when the crane operator did not has foreseen the situation.

Control of harvesters with 2D sensors PSXXX-90

The difference between crops that have been harvested and the ones that are still to be harvested can be detected using the PSXXX-90.
The 2D profiles can be used for controlling the harvester.

Volume measurement of wood piles with 3D sensor PSC250-90

In forestry and timber harvesting the 2D scanners can be used to measure the volume of wood stockpiles.

Measurement of pipe systems in refineries with 3D sensor PSC250-90

For surveying of complex piping systems the 3D sensor system PSC250-90 in an ex-protected version is a good solution.
It measures the exact position and size.
In many older plants the original drawings of these piping systems are not correct due to constant relocation and additions.

Tunnel surveying and checking with 3D Sensor PSCXXX-90

With the 2D sensor PS250-90, this measurement can be made from the vehicle giving data that can be used to calculate clearance for vehicles and mining equipment.

Surveying the glowing refractory layer with the 3D high-temperature system PSC250-90 HT

Measurement of refractory in a hot ladle is both a safety and production issue. If the refractory is deemed too early to have worn away and the ladle is taken out of service too soon, then it is a cost to production.
If in turn the ladle is left in service for too long then the danger of a breakout becomes both a production loss and a very big safety concern.
With the special 3D Sensor System PSC250-90HT the refractory thickness can be quickly measured between the ladle heaters and the return path back to either the BOS or EAF.

Level measurement of liquid steel with special 2D sensor PS250-90 HT

To monitor the level of molten steel in a ladle in relation to ladle lip is important as then the volume of steel taken out of either the BOS or EAF vessels can be calculated.
This difficult measurement task can be completed perfectly with the special sensor PS250-90 HT with the high temperature option. For the crane operator it is a safety issue in that if a ladle is too full it could result in serious injury to either himself or others.
